Indian Travelers Show Growing Interest: New Insights Reveal Who’s Visiting Kissimmee and Why
Indian travelers are forging a strong and growing connection with Central Florida, according to new research released by Experience Kissimmee. The comprehensive study uncovers valuable insights into traveler profiles, motivations, spending habits, and the key factors that make Kissimmee an appealing destination for one of the world’s fastest-expanding outbound tourism markets.
The report shows that the average Indian visitor to the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford region in 2024 falls between 35 and 39 years of age, with a significant 70% traveling solo and 18.6% exploring the destination with family and friends. Notably, middle-aged travelers with young children represent a substantial 32% of the market. These visitors plan well ahead—typically finalizing their itineraries 89 days before arrival and booking flights around 41 days prior to departure.
What Indian Travelers Love Most
Shopping (82%), sightseeing (93%), and world-famous theme parks (56%) remain top attractions for Indian visitors. Additionally, 23% of travelers extend their Florida vacation to include Miami, reflecting their interest in multi-city itineraries.
Digital influence continues to shape travel behavior, with YouTube (95%), Instagram (92%), and Facebook (89%) emerging as the most relied-upon platforms for trip inspiration—largely driven by content shared by friends and family.
Travel Duration, Preferences & Spending Patterns
Indian travelers stay in Central Florida for an average of 31 nights, investing approximately $4,339 per person and $5,838 per travel party. Their spending focuses primarily on accommodations (66.9%), followed by food and beverages (12.5%), and recreation (1.6%).
When choosing where to stay, 85% prefer hotels or motels for an average of six nights, while 8% opt for vacation homes, staying notably longer at around nine nights.
