HPL Announces Kandooma Maldives Rebrand with Refreshed All-Inclusive Experience
Ocean adventures, wellness and shared island experiences shape the resort’s new ‘Made for All’ positioning
HPL Hotels & Resorts has announced the takeover of management of Holiday Inn Kandooma Resort Maldives and its rebranding as Kandooma Maldives, effective 1 October 2026. The transition introduces a refreshed all-inclusive concept centred on ocean adventures, wellness, dining and connection.
Located on a private island in the South Malé Atoll, approximately 40 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, the resort caters to couples, solo travellers, families and groups of friends. Its new positioning, “Made for All,” brings together experiences that allow guests to shape their own island escape.
According to the announcement, the all-inclusive plan covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, selected beverages and snacks throughout the day. A selection of complimentary experiences includes a sunset splash cruise, sunrise fishing, a 30-minute spa treatment, guided reef snorkelling and guided diving.
General Manager Andrew Drummond said the refreshed offering builds on Kandooma’s connection with the ocean and island life, giving guests greater freedom to explore, unwind and spend time together.
Five Ways to Experience Island Life
The resort’s offering is organised around five Kandooma Signatures.
Kandooma Blue focuses on surfing, diving, snorkelling and sunset cruises, while Kandooma Flow encourages relaxation through yoga, breathwork, recovery sessions and spa rituals.
Kandooma Table brings guests together over island-inspired dining, including beach barbecues, castaway picnics, sunset dinners and chef-led tastings. Kandooma Ways introduces local visits, cultural encounters, nature walks and stargazing, while Kandooma Social features music, sunset gatherings, group games and campfire evenings.
Together, these experiences extend the resort’s appeal to multigenerational families, leisure travellers and groups seeking an informal setting for retreats.
Villa Enhancements and New Social Spaces
The management transition also includes a programme of enhancements across the resort’s 146 villas and facilities. At the time of the September announcement, these works were targeted for completion in the following weeks, with normal guest operations continuing throughout.
Planned additions include eight Family Beach Villas with private splash pools, splash pools for four two-bedroom Beach Houses, and a second three-bedroom villa. Both three-bedroom villas will feature private pools.
A new Beach Club is intended to serve as an all-day gathering space for guests of all ages, including teenagers, while Kandooma Café will offer 24-hour dining.
The announcement identifies Kandooma Maldives as Hotel Properties Limited’s eighth property in the Maldives and the 13th hotel managed by HPL Hotels & Resorts, strengthening the group’s presence in the Indian Ocean destination.
