Malaysia Airlines Takes Mumbai Indians Global with Special-Themed Aircraft Livery

Malaysia Airlines, in collaboration with Mumbai Indians, has unveiled a uniquely designed aircraft livery, merging the signature blue and gold of the celebrated cricket franchise with the airline’s iconic identity.

Showcased on the airline’s A330-300, the new livery represents a striking fusion of sport, culture, and global connectivity. The design features a dynamic pulse inspired by the Mumbai Indians emblem and Chakra, symbolising movement and energy, while fluid patterns reflect the team’s expanding international fanbase. The initiative reinforces Malaysia Airlines’ positioning as a global carrier connecting people through shared passions and experiences.

To commemorate the launch, both partners released a digital tribute film highlighting Mumbai’s vibrant culture, its passionate fan community, and the essence of Malaysian hospitality.

Bryan Foong, CEO of Airline Business at Malaysia Aviation Group, emphasised India’s strategic importance, noting that the collaboration goes beyond conventional partnerships by integrating cultural relevance into the travel experience.

A Mumbai Indians spokesperson described the initiative as a significant milestone, extending the team’s identity beyond cricket into a global cultural platform.

The themed aircraft will operate on key routes across India and Asia later this year, offering fans a distinctive travel experience. Alongside, Malaysia Airlines continues to promote its Bonus Side Trip programme, encouraging transit passengers via Kuala Lumpur to explore additional Malaysian destinations.

The initiative also aligns with the airline’s support for Visit Malaysia 2026, further strengthening its presence in key markets, including India.
