Building on the success of previous MICE expos in Colombo and the Northern region, the Southern MICE Expo promises to offer a unique platform for international MICE agents and media professionals to explore the untapped opportunities in the Southern Region. Meticulously organized by the SLCB with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Lands, this initiative seeks to elevate the region's appeal and attract attention from key global markets.
The four-day agenda is packed with exciting events designed to facilitate networking, knowledge sharing, and business opportunities. Highlights include an opening plenary, a dynamic business forum, B2B meetings, an elegant gala dinner, and an immersive tour of the Southern Region. With an expected attendance of 115 MICE buyers and media representatives from diverse international markets such as India, China, Germany, UAE, and more, the expo promises to be a melting pot of ideas and collaboration.
One of the key features of the expo is the B2B meetings, which will serve as a platform for local MICE service providers – including hotels, venues, and operators – to connect with potential buyers. The SLCB is also offering a subsidized package to MICE operators and travel agents in Colombo, encouraging them to explore the Southern Region and participate in the expo's sessions.
