Uzbekistan Airways and Air India Sign Interline Agreement to Enhance Connectivity

On the sidelines of the 81st General Assembly of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) held in Delhi, national carriers Uzbekistan Airways and Air India signed a landmark interline agreement, enhancing travel connectivity and convenience between India, Uzbekistan, and destinations beyond.
The agreement enables Uzbekistan Airways passengers to book through-tickets for seamless onward travel via Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, with connecting flights operated by Air India to over 30 domestic destinations such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, and Kochi. Passengers will benefit from single-ticket booking, baggage check-through to the final destination, and issuance of boarding passes for the full journey at the point of origin.
Uzbekistan Airways currently operates regular flights from Tashkent to Delhi and Mumbai, along with seasonal flights to Goa. The airline connects to over 90 destinations worldwide and remains the only CIS airline operating a transcontinental route between Central Asia and the United States (Tashkent–New York–Tashkent).
Alisher Sattarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, emphasized the strategic significance of this partnership:
“Our cooperation with Air India opens new horizons for our passengers. This agreement is not just about expanding our route network—it is a strategic step toward building a more integrated, accessible, and convenient air travel system between Central and South Asia. We are confident that this partnership will enable more travelers to discover Uzbekistan and India—two countries rich in culture and growing in tourism and business potential.”
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, added:
“These new interline partnerships significantly enhance Air India’s global reach and open seamless pathways to vibrant cities across some of the most important emerging markets of today. Our partnership with Uzbekistan Airways brings more travel options and smoother journeys for our growing base of customers worldwide, while reinforcing India’s rising status as a key global aviation hub.”
