RDTM & First Marwar Travel Mart 2026 build momentum across Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Jawai
Rajasthan is once again preparing to bring its tourism fraternity together, but this year the story is larger than a travel mart. With the 6th Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) scheduled in Jaipur from 17–19 September 2026, followed by the first Marwar Travel Mart (MTM) in Jodhpur from 20–22 September, the state is creating two strong platforms to connect its diverse tourism products with the domestic travel trade.
Organised by the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, the two events carry the theme ‘Stories, Journeys, Smiles’—a theme that aptly reflects Rajasthan’s evolving tourism narrative.
Bikaner | Putting the Destination on the Wider Tourism Map
The pre-event journey began in Bikaner, where a roadshow at Narendra Bhawan brought together more than 100 tourism stakeholders. District Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Nishant Jain (IAS), who attended as Chief Guest, highlighted the immense potential of Bikaner and the need to attract a larger share of domestic travellers.
The discussions went beyond individual tourism businesses, focusing on destination-level marketing and how RDTM and MTM can become effective platforms for taking Bikaner and other Rajasthan destinations to new markets.
Jaisalmer | Tourism with a Sustainable Perspective
The campaign moved to Jaisalmer, where more than 130 stakeholders participated in the meeting at Taj Gorbandh Palace. District Collector and District Magistrate Anupama Jorwal emphasised community participation, employment generation and preservation of traditional crafts, while also drawing attention to wastewater management and energy conservation. The message was clear: the future of Rajasthan tourism must combine commercial growth with sustainability and community involvement.
Jodhpur | A New Chapter for Marwar
In Jodhpur, anticipation is building for the inaugural Marwar Travel Mart. At the stakeholders’ meet at Indana Palace, Divisional Commissioner Kanhaiya Lal Swami described Jodhpur as the gateway to the vast Marwar region and stressed the importance of developing new experiences that encourage visitors to stay longer.
FHTR and JHARA leaders called upon hotels, tour operators and other tourism businesses to participate actively, with the vision of establishing MTM as a significant annual B2B tourism platform for the region.
Jawai | Beyond the Leopard Safari
The campaign reached Jawai, bringing together around 95 stakeholders from Jawai, Ranakpur, Ghanerao, Pali and Sirohi at Aaramgah Jawai Resort & Spa. The region’s growing popularity was acknowledged by Senior Additional Director, Rajasthan Tourism, Anand Tripathi. Stakeholders, however, emphasised that Jawai’s identity should extend beyond leopard safaris. Its landscapes, rural experiences, hospitality, culture and surrounding destinations offer opportunities to create a more comprehensive tourism proposition.
Sustainability also emerged as an important conversation, with industry representatives stressing the need to balance tourism development with environmental conservation.
Two Marts, One Larger Tourism Vision
RDTM is expected to bring together around 300 travel agents from across India and more than 700 Rajasthan properties and tour companies, while MTM is expected to welcome approximately 125 travel agents and 300 properties.
From Bikaner’s heritage and desert experiences to Jaisalmer’s living traditions, Jodhpur’s royal character and Jawai’s unique wilderness, the pre-event campaign has demonstrated one important reality—Rajasthan is no longer selling just destinations; it is creating experiences and stories for the modern traveller.
As the industry prepares to meet in Jaipur and Jodhpur, ‘Stories, Journeys, Smiles’ promises to become more than a theme. It represents Rajasthan’s continuing journey towards stronger destination branding, wider domestic outreach and greater collaboration between the government and tourism industry.
Safari Plus will be following this journey and bringing the industry closer to the people and destinations shaping Rajasthan’s next tourism chapter.
