Varanasi Tourism Guild Installs New Leadership in Grand Oath-Taking Ceremony
The Varanasi Tourism Guild (VTG) hosted its oath-taking ceremony for newly elected office bearers at Hotel Four Leaf Akosha in the Lalpur-Pandeypur area, following the completion of its biennial elections. The event marked a significant moment in the city’s tourism leadership, with prominent industry stakeholders and dignitaries in attendance.
Mr. Subhash Kapoor took charge as President of the Guild, alongside Mr. Saurabh Pandey as General Secretary, Mr. Ranjeet Srivastava as Treasurer, Mr. Brajesh Singh as Vice President, and Mr. Jainendra Rai as Joint Secretary. Mr. Piyush Prasad was sworn in as Senior Vice President. The Executive Committee members who took oath included Mr. Pradeep Chaurasia, Mr. Pramod Singh, Dr. Vivek Tiwari, Mr. Gajendra Chaubey, and Mr. Sushil Tiwari.
Varanasi Mayor, Hon’ble Mr. Ashok Tiwari, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized Kashi’s continued allure for both domestic and international tourists, driven by the spiritual magnetism of the city and the transformative Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. He assured the Guild of full support from the administration in addressing industry concerns.
In his presidential remarks, Mr. Subhash Kapoor underlined the untapped potential of Varanasi in promoting MICE tourism and destination weddings, in addition to its strong religious tourism base.
Special Guest Mr. Puneet Gupta, Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, noted the growing air connectivity with new cities, which will ease tourist access and boost inflow. Mr. Pavas Prasoon, Assistant Director, India Tourism, stressed the need to enhance nearby tourist spots to extend visitor stays.
Hotel Four Leaf Akosha Director, Mr. Amit Singh, also shared insights on identifying and promoting new tourism attractions in the region.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from tourism industry veterans, including TWA President Mr. Rahul Mehta, former VTG President Mr. Santosh Singh, Mr. Abhay Singh (Director, Surya Hotel), and notable professionals such as Mr. Anil Tripathi, Mr. Pradeep Rai, Mr. Abhay Sahay, Mr. Parmanand Singh, Mr. Abhishek Singh, and Ms. Anupama Singh — all of whom extended warm wishes to the new leadership team.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Treasurer Mr. Ranjeet Srivastava, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Varanasi’s tourism development efforts.
