Ministry of Tourism to Host “World Food India – Reviving the Culinary Treasures of India” at Bharat Mandapam

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is set to host “World Food India – Reviving the Culinary Treasures of India” from September 25–28, 2025, at Hall No. 5, 1st Floor, Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
This four-day gastronomic celebration will highlight India’s rich culinary heritage, with a focus on reviving forgotten food traditions, ancient cooking techniques, and exploring the global potential of indigenous ingredients. The event also aims to position India as a leader in sustainable food innovation.
Curated by the India Food Tourism Organisation (IFTO) as the knowledge partner and supported by FICCI as the logistics partner, the event will bring together media professionals, social media influencers, food critics, opinion makers, bloggers, international buyers, and eminent dignitaries.
Highlights of the Program:

Day 1: Inaugural session followed by a panel on “Reviving Treasure Foods of Indian Cooking & How That Can Change the World”, featuring experts such as Chef Vicky Ratnani, Mr. Vikram Mittal, Dr. Chef Saurabh Sharma, Chef Vineet Manocha, and Mr. Amit Lohani, moderated by Mr. K.K. Pant (Principal, IHM Pusa). Discussions will explore ancient culinary practices like fermentation, sun-drying, earthenware cooking, and forgotten ingredients such as millets and tribal grains.

Day 2: “Rethinking Roots: The Rise of India’s Forgotten Food Culture”, moderated by Dr. Chef Rajeev Goyal, with participation from Chef Manjeet Gill, Ms. Marryam H. Reshii, Ms. Rushina M. Ghildayal, Ms. Yogita Uchil and others. Sessions will focus on GI-tagged ingredients, heirloom grains, and export opportunities.

Day 3: “What the World Can Learn from Indian Gastronomy”, moderated by Gurpreet Singh Tikku, featuring Padmashree Prof. Pushpesh Pant, Chef Vikas Chawla, Chef Sadaf Hussain and others. The session will emphasize Ayurveda, thali traditions, spice layering, zero-waste cooking, and millet-based innovations as future-ready smart food solutions.

Day 4: “India’s Traditional Innovation in Food with Indigenous Ingredients”, moderated by Dr. Chef Rajeev Goyal, with experts like Dr. Kurush F. Dalal and Ms. Pritha Sen, focusing on sustainability, millet superfoods, and plant-based protein innovations.
With expert-led discussions, interactive masterclasses, and authentic food sampling sessions, World Food India promises to be a landmark platform celebrating India’s culinary legacy while shaping the future of sustainable global gastronomy.
